Sid & Marty Krofft Halloween Costumes Gallery

One of the biggest influences of my childhood were the Saturday morning programs created by the famed Canadian brothers Sid and Marty Krofft. I don't think I was alone judging by the amazing variety of Halloween costumes available almost every year of my childhood.

    Thanks to my pal
    Dave McKroffterson for sharing his

amazing and often times obscure collection of

Sid and Marty Krofft costumes and prototypes for

    this amazing gallery.

From Electra Woman to Dr Shrinker and more

Witchie Poo than you can shake a stick at it's all in

the Sid and Marty Krofft Halloween Costume Gallery!

It's nearly impossible to imagine what the 1970's would have been like without the pop cultural influence of Sid & Marty Krofft.

Together, they were the Walt Disney of our (70's kids) generation.

Really impressive collection! I wish I had some of these back in the day! But the Electra Woman costume....that's a Bionic Woman mask. (I know, 'cos that's the only Ben Cooper costume I did have!). This is Electra Woman:

This weeks podcast theme is the Krofft Supershow so I feel it appropriate to theme the week to some of my favourites from the brothers Krofft. Electrawoman and Dynagirl is absolutely in my top five favourite Krofft shows. I didn't understand what drew me to this show as a kid but I could not look away either. Above is
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

Truck Shackley! I had forgotten all about those puppets, and what show they came from! But my folks watched the Mandrell Sisters show, so it all makes sense now.

I was too young to remember much of the Krofft heyday, but there are vague flashes of memory there, that PS and the Museum have brought to the surface. Like pop culture psychotherapy!

Wow, great collection. I would have loved wearing that Hoo-Doo costume back in the day. Speaking of which, I'm totally ready for more Krofft action figures. The last set by Living Toyz from around 2000 were great, but they made only four figures (Pufnstuf, Electra Woman, Sigmund the Seamonster, and Cling & Clang; and an exclusive Pufnstuf variant at Tower Records). Where are the Mego-type figures?

^ That is pure CNR awesomeness. I can just hear him chuckle.

I'm amazed Dr. Shrinker got a costume.

I wonder if the Krofft licenses are too expensive or just considered too "niche"? I'd certainly love some reMego Kroffts: Land of the Lost and Electra Woman, perhaps even Bigfoot and Wildboy, seem like they'd be winners and crop of regularly on "wanted" polls.

Selfishly, I'd enjoy Krofft and Filmation offerings as much as Hanna-Barbera.
