Another I had no idea this even existed toy. I do remember what a big deal she was back in the day. Remember when the Olympics were a really big deal. I guess they still are, but it just doesn't feel as big since the Miracle on Ice (a very American prespective).
My sister had this growing up. I bought one off Ebay for her birthday a while back. I loved the look of the box and figure and the 70's memories it brought me, that I later picked one up for myself.

I remember Mary Lou Retton being a big deal, and all over Wheaties boxes, etc. BUT, that Olympics was held in Los Angeles, so that may be the American perspective again.
I remember my 6th grade teacher, Ms. Abrams, looked a lot like Dorothy Hamill, even down to the haircut. Have you seen her on those "Sit & Cycle" commercials? She still looks good.
