All figures from the original run, circa 1978-1980. The vehicles and playsets from Empire were great, but the figures didn't stand out as much to me. By ROTJ I found the whole franchise rather stale, and had moved on to other things.

Only reason luke beats obi wan is because the light saber wasn't attached. Those were all some of the figures I had, had a lot of figures, ships and playsets from the first 2 movies, by the time jedi and it's toys came out I was buying the 3 3/4 joes

I had him in there but swapped him for the AT AT commander just cause as a kid I played more with him

Although I've recently gotten a bunch I didn't have as a kid, my favorites remain my old guys. I remember riding my bike almost daily during the Summer after Empire came out to see if they had gotten Yoda in stock yet, so he takes the number one spot for sure.

Tusken Raider gets an honorable mention from me. Played with him a lot. Never had Vader, or Boba Fett, not sure why. Never had Leia either. Probably only had a dozen figures when I was a kid. By the time Return came out I was too old for toys, so I never had any from that movie.

Boy this is tough...most of the figures I had were from Empire, so I'm biased towards them, but I really do think most of the bounty hunters get top marks for sheer coolness.

Luke Bespin - The ultimate good guy in the ultimate soldier uniform. Plus the first time the lightsaber wasn't telescoping. My favorite figure growing up.
Walrus Man - You just can't beat that crazy loud color scheme. Plus the flipper boots.
Jawa - Vinyl cape or Cloth, it doesn't matter, they're so tiny, yet so detailed. And the gun is cool.
AT-AT Driver - The shiny paint apps make this guy really stand out. Plus the detailed cog symbols printed on the helmet were pretty advanced for the time.
Darth Vader - Nothing beats the smell of a freshly opened Vader figure. That smell stays in your brain forever. I remember making mine "fly" around the house because he had a cape.
Yoda - The perfect marriage of sculpt, soft goods, and accessories. The snake, tunic, belt, cane... all fit like a glove. Hasbro has still never topped the sculpt.
Death Squad Commander - No, seriously. His shiny boots and gloves and simple jumpsuit, plus that whacky half bowling ball on his head. Love this guy.
Snowtrooper - I love that they still used the vinyl cape for this guy. Plus he was the first to have that enormous rifle.
Farmboy Luke - Luke makes my list twice. He's my favorite character, and this figure is just so iconic.
C-3PO - The vac metalized surface is amazing. Take him off the card, he's stiff as a board. You have to crack his limbs to get them moving. I remember thinking I broke it when I did that.

Wow, I can't believe Boba Fett and nobody from Return of the Jedi made my list!

I'd have to expand mine to 12, and just say the original 12 figures. Loved them all!

Gosh, sitting here trying to pick and rank 'em is much tougher than I'd anticipated! I find that most of my favorites have as much to do with a sentimental memory attached to them as it does due to their design/playability. Here goes:

1. TIE Fighter Pilot (I'm thinking about finally committing to doing a serious focus collection of all MOC variations of this one, I have a couple already!)
2. Bossk
3. Bespin Luke
4. Cloud Car Pilot (An odd choice I know, but I was very fond of the Twin Pod Cloud Car that my dad surprised me with after a business trip, and later my mom surprised me with the pilot one day, very happy memories and I think the design of the character is awesome.)
5. R5-D4
6. Bespin Leia
7. Stormtrooper
8. Luke X-Wing Pilot
9. Walrus Man
10. AT-AT Driver
