Anybody else remember a 70's gas station that gave a toy Noah's Ark ?

Back in the 70's I remember my ma, older bro and sis's getting me animals for a Noah's Ark toy at my local gas station ... I think you got a set with a tank of gas ... in the end you got the ark itself.

Even though I've never been religious I loved collecting all the parts each week.

Was just wondering if this was a local thing ?

I never had them, but this is what I found:

"In 1971, ARCO (Atlantic Richfield Company) decided to play on its name to get kids to bug their parents to stop at ARCO every week: they offered a plastic model of Noah’s Ark along with 12 different pairs of toy animals."

There is a funeral home nearby on the freeway with one of those big lite up signs and every so often it posts:

Have you ever wondered what summer would be like if Noah had just swatted those 2 Mosquitos?

I remember those. Made going to fuel up fun. Had a bunch of the animals, but never got the ark. I think they were made by Larami; same company that put out The Martian Chronicles figures.

You are transparent; I see many things... I see plans within plans.

I had one too. It was a fun toy. It worked great with my toy soldiers and frontiersmen. ARCO, that's s serious blast from the past.
