    LJN Indiana Jones Prototype

Just scored these great Prototype pieces from the LJN Indiana Jones line. Especially thrilled since there are so few prototypes of anything from this line. Enjoy guys!

PS: If anyone has photos of anyother prototypes from this line please feel free to post it here!

With all the LJN prototypes Mary had been pulling out left and right of the same pieces over the past couple of years, I've passed on them. I'll leave it at that.

Not sure who Mary is, or the story.

These items I was able to authenticate with a friend who was an LJN toy engineer on the line. Not sure about other pieces, these are the only protos I have purchased from this line that interested me, and that I was comfortable with.

The only "proof" that I have obtained came from a friend who was a Toy Engineer on the line. Thats all that is needed. Most prototypes dont come with a solid "provenance" so there isnt much to back them. That goes for all toy lines, regardless of certain claims of collectors or the AFA etc.

I am sure most here know a certificate is only as good as the paper its printed on. The best "proof" is to understand the manufacturing process/ materials/ etc used to make the line your interested in. Consult former engineers from the line if possible, and to have other knowledgable collectors with an ESTABLISHED track record give their thoughts/ opinions on the piece. Key word...."thoughts/ opinions". Not fact, but all you can do is close in on the truth as much as possible.

AFA is an opinion, and there are times that they too get it wrong. Dont always rely on "certifcates" or grading stickers as proof of authenticity. Always do your own research.
