The Remco AWA Wrestling Referee Figures

    http://wrestlingmemorabilia.blogspot...ref-squad.html

This week on my blog, I look at the referee figures from the Remco AWA Wrestling line. At first, the referee figures were afterthoughts made with leftover heads from the Remco "Warlord" line. Later on in the run, things took a different turn. There are even a few common misconceptions regarding the refs. For figures that are largely supposed to be in the background, they overshadow even some of the wrestlers!

Thanks! Yeah Remco made refs and managers, LJN made refs, managers, and announcers, and Hasbro made...wrestlers.

Fun read! The one thing I liked about the Remco figures over the LJN figures is the fact that they were posable.

Sure wish I collected the Remco wrestlers back in the day. I'm tempted to start looking for them if they arent that hard to find.

              Thanks Ian!

FigureMod--The first few series really aren't that hard to find. Even the often-lost accessories are in abundance. It's the last series which were single carded figures called "Mat Mania" that are difficult. A lot of the greats are in the earlier series (Nick Bockwinkel, Larry Zbyszko, The Road Warriors, The Fabulous Freebirds) and are readily available. The last series you just have to be really eagle-eyed with. Boris Zhukov is in that series and is the only I'm missing, aside from some accessories.
