    Scotty, Beam Starsky up!

Technological advancement in the 70's made it easy for companies to market once expensive walkie talkies to us kids and wow, they were cool. While I longed for the Mego Star Trek communicators my sister and I ended up with some generic looking ones on the end. My best friend and I spent hours annoying a neighbour with a CB, we'd be playing SWAT and all of a sudden hear "WILL YOU TWO SHUT UP!"

Wow I can't believe those Star Trek communicators were originally $30! I bought a working set at a show back in January for <$40 so I guess they held their value.

Can you imagine Starsky and Hutch using walkie talkies with their names on them? The rest of the force must have been jealous. Cool car, cooll walkie-talkies. Cool freeze frame moments at commercial breaks...

I always wanted a walkie talkie as a kid, and never had one. Now I do have the Star Trek ones, but they need to be repaired. Say, are they the same frequency as the Batman base station?

I always wanted the Trek Communicators back in the day --- but I was always told "they're too expensive"

Now that I look back, THEY WERE really expensive back then.

No wonder I never got them

              $29.95 back then was like what ? --- like $100.00 today ?

Has anyone noticed that the Enterprise/Star Fleet medallion sitting in a circle on the lid of the communicator looks like the update of the logo as used in TMP which came out about 5 years after Mego issued them? Hmmmmm.
                  It's all good!
