    Shogun Warriors in France

I end this week with this little bit of wonder from France, where the line was simply called "Shogun" and featured Goldorak. I ask you, what is not to love?

This ad refers to Raider (not Raideen), Mazinger, Poseidon and Dragun as his "Strongest Friends", love it. Oh and the invincible defenders of the Earth are sold seperately.

    Have a great weekend everybody!

trying really hard not to collect Shogun's. What few Jumbo's I have already take up too much space.

The die-cast Shoguns are equally as cool as the big guys in my book.

Just need a Daimos to complete the giants.
I gave up hope of ever getting a Rodan.

^ I'm with you about obtaining an affordable Rodan. While the collector niche is small for Jumbos part of the problem is they hoard that stuff, their collections as seen in shared pictures speak for themselves with, say, 6 giant robots of each kind, which they're entitled to buy and own, but it sucks for us folks trying to get 1 of each. They drive up the cost of every auction, even the beaters, and increase the value. (I've got duplicates of all the common robots Raideen, Great Mazinger & Dragun so I'm no better than the collectors I'm complaining about.)

My most recent jumbo was over six months ago, I got a Daimos, just the one (similarly I own one Godzilla), but Daimos isn't complete. I need to buy a repro fist and get new stickers and maybe go all out by changing it like a Popy edition.

I was quoted $800 for the repro Dangard Ace on Robot Japan so I'll never afford that robot nor Combatter. :(

I love the art shown at the top of the thread!

Don't quite remember why Popy chose to use pictures of their Jumbos as the box artwork for their chogokins. I think they were trying to rush their release before any artwork was ready.

When I was a kid I remember coming across the die-cast Shogun Warrior toys far more frequently than the jumbos, which frustrated me because I was only interested in the 24" jumbos. They seemed to really have a lot of the small die-cast toys at the Sears we frequented (in River Oaks/Calumet City, IL.) Now as an adult collector I find myself as interested (or even moreso) in those die-cast toys than the large ones. Those were some really amazing toys.
