    Battery Operate Batmobile

This is one of the earliest pieces of Bat merchandise that AHI ever made. One of the more interesting things about the company is you get to watch them go from creating original, crazy artwork for each toy to the less dynamic "style guide" approach of the early 1980s.

Rack Toys: Cheap, Crazed Playthings is a limited edition 144 page book from the creator of Plaid Stallions. Order from us and get three free promotional post cards.

Huh, I've never seen this before. That artwork is really nice compared to much of AHI's redrawn artwork. Looks a bit like Murphy Anderson. Although, you gotta wonder, who the crap is driving the Batmobile if Robin is still in the passenger seat?

Oh wait, it's remote controlled! I get it.

Look closely at the batmobile , it looks like CORGIS die cast batmobile from the mid 70s

Just google corgi batmobile ,you'll see what I mean (not the corgi junior)

AHI used that same mold (or slightly resized variations) for years. Who knows, It may have some origins in the Corgi car. I may take a look when I get home. The Aurora Monster heads certainly made it around to other monster toy items, so it could be.

Don't think I've seen that before. Very cool.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Also came in a blue version.

and if I'm not mistaken ahi produced this tin version of the 1966 batmobile in 1972, even earlier than the Remote Control car

What a great memory. I use to have one as a kid. It didn't last very long since I tended to go through Batmobiles, mostly Corgi, at a alarming rate. So neat to see one still packaged. These were the types of toys I would get when I would have a bad illness like the flu. It was a nice pick-me-upper.
