Like a lot of kids, I wanted the ability to make my own shaved ice. I wasn't sure where people got blocks of ice, replacement flavors or who cleaned up this mess but as a parent, you begin to realize why you didn't get it...
I remember when I was a kid and in the department store w/ my older sister, I saw this on the shelf and asked her if I could get it. She told me that it was a rip-off, and all they put in the box was a large block of ice. Like a dope, I believed her, (not even considering the ice would melt on a store shelf ) I have 2 sno-cone machines now (school and home), so I'm happy now.
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
I have vague memories of this, so either we had it, or someone we knew did, when I was very young.
I didn't have the Snoopy Snow-Cone maker until I was in High School and bought one on a whim. I was disappointed to learn the results aren't really worth the effort.

Same here, it really looks familiar and I had a fascination with snow cone makers when I was young.
