Top Ten Fisher Price Adventure People Sets

The Fisher Price Adventure people were truly the game changers when it came to action figures in the 1970s. Their infectiously fun combination of vehicle and figure were an instant hit with kids when they hit shelves in 1975. Parents liked their non violent play structure and the fact that they appeared to be indestructible.

What's more important was the Adventure people didn't go unnoticed by other toy manufacturers and by the end of the Polyester decade we were literally awash in 3 3/4" goodness.

Here are the top ten Fisher Price Adventure People Sets:

    10) Dare Devil Skydiver
This set was minimalist but it actually worked and unlike poop-a-troopers wouldn't completely crap out after an hour of play. I got mine stuck in many a tree but I still have him to this day. Good Times.

That picture of #1 gets bonus cool points by having Big Bird and Cookie Monster in the background.

I had numbers 4, 7, 8 and 10. So, those are my favorites on the list. The parachute still survives.

I was always partial to the SCUBA divers and, of course, to the rescue paramedic/firefighter set. Though, I got many hours and fun that can set with the motocross bike and kayak.

I had 10 9 7 4 2 1 and yes the shuttle was AWESOME I had a lot of fun with the little mini shuttle in the payload bay I would pull the main engines off the big shuttle and click them onto the mini and it was the closest thing to a VIPER I could give Starbuck

Every time you post about these I lament never knowing these existed. I'm still not sure how I missed out on these.

Sea explorer was the prime focus of our bath games as children for me and my two brothers....and now my own children STILL play with that set. That's my personal #1.

I had quite a few of these sets as a kid. Distinctly remember the wilderness boat and my death star commander going for a disastrous trip in Lake Erie.

Very cool but I have to admit I rarely see Adventure People at shows and flea markets. Who is hoarding these guys?

I find fisher price little people and adventure people fairly regularly at thrift shops. I think it's because they hold up so well, and people probably feel that other little kids would like it so they donate rather than toss out. However I've only been picking it up over the last couple of years. It is pretty addictive though.

With all the hype from Jaws, the shark hunter playset was my favorite. Alpha Star was pretty sweet too.
