    Something I've always wondered about.........

Does anyone know the reason why Kenner gave their 12" Boba Fett a "bionic eye"? That's something that has puzzled me since I was a kid.

I think it was just supposed to simulate his view finder. Kenner already had the "technology" from their SMDM figure, and for some reason they were really stocking up Boba with extra features, so why not I guess. I remember when I got my Boba as a kid, I was just thinking "Big deal, I was playing with this feature two years ago with my Steve Austin, and it wasn't a very exciting feature then either". Still a great figure though!

Kenner loved to recycle. 6 years after they gave Darkseid "light-pipe eyes" in the Super Powers line, they did the same for Scarecrow in the Batman: The Animated Series line.

^Yeah and they used it again with R2-D2 when they brought back their Star Wars line.

I've been collecting that line slowly since I was a kid and never have gotten around to getting Boba Fett, but--and I'm not joking around here--this is the first I've ever heard of this. It kind of blows me away I didn't know that, but I'm glad you posted it!

The 12 inch Boba Fett was originally going to be a deluxe electronic figure loaded with action features. Including battery operated LED lights, firing rockets and launching arm darts. Probably was too costly and the range finder bionic eye was the only feature that made it to the production figure.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
