Not the Han Solo I remember

I recently got a Denys Fisher catalog from the UK, they seemed to only carry the 12" Star Wars line and I couldn't help but notice something was different about Han.

I think Kenner used that same head to mock up Lando.

THis is from when John Ritter was up for the role. It was a last minute running change to get a Ford-like sculpt.

Cool. Also, the 12 inch Stormtrooper in the catalog is actually the 3 3/4 inch one.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Looks almost like Alfred E. Newman.

That's right. In fact I'm looking at my Frank Hardy (Parker Stevenson) doll also made by Kenner. It seems Kenner borrowed likenesses from other dolls for their little catalogs. I have an ad for the Joe Hardy (Shaun Cassidy) doll that was actually the large Luke Skywalker doll in different clothes, (and not even the ones he was sold with).

It's a little known fact that Stevenson shot 75% of the film before storming off the set and getting fired. And it's little known because it's a bald-faced lie.

I think Han got off easy with Parker Stevenson as a stand in. Kenner's infamous Dusty (sporting a star puffs hairdo) was Leia's stand in for early proto pics.

^That wasn't Dusty, that was Carrie Fisher after a cocaine binge. See the Star Wars Holiday Special for another.
