I kind of miss the whole "Conversation pit" movement in the 70's, probably because I just realized that we had this set as a kid and now I want it back.
Here it is. the living room I grew up in. Add a man asleep still in a suit, still cradling his first, unfinished Rum n' Coke and two kids sitting three inches from a tv so as not to wake him (at least not at 6am) and it's memory lane, baby
I can't tell you how many times I played with Mego figures on that thing. I remember it being the perfect alien world for Star Trek, those pillows were like the greatest hills.

We never had one of those when I was a kid but actually I'd love to have one of those now! A friend of mine had one. It sat in a sunken den with a fireplace. We used to jump from the 2nd level in their house onto it.
One of the most comfortable couches I've ever owned too !
Like I touched upon in the blog, if my father looked at this couch the wrong way he would collapse into a coma. He spent much of 1981 dozing on it. I was sorry to see it get hauled off to the Goodwill.

That top set looks oh so groovy! I love the rug too!

I am jealous. Our couch was way WAY crappier than that cool thing. My parents just got rid of it last year.
