You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
I never had ROM as a kid, but a neighborhood friend's older brother had one. I've contemplated whether or not I want to pick one up. Looking back as an adult collector, the toy doesn't have much in the way of articulation. And further, no other toys were made to go along with ROM, which sort of limited the playability factor. If I had ROM as a kid, I might've gotten bored with it real fast, sort of like with Big Trak. By the late 70's, I was playing with the 3.75" figures.
I am more than machine. More than man. More than a fusion of the two.
I've been looking for one of those after seeing one a local collector here in town had. The accessories just light up with a simple led light, nothing spectacular, but I always thought it would compliment my smdm stuff. The one I saw had some issues standing up on its own, loose knee joints if I recall. Does yours stand up well?
I remember a kind down the street from me having this. I was aware of and read the comic so it would have driven me nuts not to get any other characters.
