    Anybody ever see this?

OK so this has bugged me for a while maybe one of you guys know about it.

In the late 60s early 70 there was this airport play set. It had a big fold out cardboard runway. A plastic yellow control tower that opened up so you could play these small records of air traffic control sounds. This hooked up to a pilots headset.

It came with several 747s, a Leer jet, a helicopter/landing pad and a red hanger.

I thought it was a Marxx set but have been unable to google any info at all.

Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
    Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.

I like trying to figure out what old toys are, but have been unable to figure this one out. The fold out runway seemed to strike a bell with me because I think that might have been a feature on an old Fisher-price runway? were the records like "real" black vinyl records? or like the plastic multi-colored records Fisher-Price made?

Naw these were real micro records about 5"in diameter if I remember. The base was that real thick almost wood type cardboard.

All the aircraft were molded in white but had different airline stickers you had to apply.

I got this as a kid one X mas and for the life of me never seen one like it again. Ive seen some Marxx sets similar but not quite.

Every so often when I'm in a knowlegable toy forum I ask around. Maybe one day I'll get lucky.

Sounds like the "Voice Controlled Kennedy Airport" by Remco... Check out this blog, it has a link to the original commercial. Bedazzled!: Remco Voice Control Kennedy Airport (Repost)

After looking in some of my old Christmas catalogs it sounds like a Matchbox Airport that was a JC Penny exclusive. Did it fold up into a carrying case?

Was the JC Penny version different than other cased Matchbox Airport and Matchbox city from the early 70's? I don't recall ever seeing a version that had a pilot's headset with it and sound?
            It's all good!
