    Funko ReAction Interview

At this point we’ve heard of the following licenses: Back to the Future, Aliens, Predator, Firefly, Universal Monsters, Terminator 1 & 2, Goonies, Escape from New York, The Rocketeer, Nightmare Before Christmas, Pulp Fiction, Buffy the Vampire Slayer (tv), Star Trek Classic and “many, many more!”.
    2. Star Trek Classic was listed as one of the ReAction licenses. What does “Classic” entail? Just the Original Series or everything prior to the JJ Abram’s reboot?

Yes Classic TV i.e. Nimoy and Shatner and the original series for now.
Toy Fair is going to explode minds. We will be unveiling 8-10 new lines of ReAction, many in their blister cards and some as prototypes in paint stage. It will be epic!

Disappointed to not read the name of the guy who brought the concept to life in this article.

^So is Brian Flynn not the guy?

I'm most stoked about Trek and the Universal monsters. I always wished Mego had made classic TOS Trek over TMP. Now we'll get our chance.

He's definitely involved, I was more or less referring to the project manager of the Alien set. A really nice guy who I think should have been credited.

Gotcha. Since the Alien figures turned out so well, let's hope he's involved in these future sets.

He is not but it sounds like it was fair and amicable conclusion, just would have been nice to read his name, I guess. I am looking forward to some of these licenses very much.

Rocketeer is news to me. That will be awesome. But beyond the Rocketeer himself, and maybe Jenny (Bettie), how deep into the characters could a line like that go? I actually hope that they keep character depth reasonable. I can see some licenses being a one and done kind of thing. Beyond Marty and Doc, what Back to the Future characters would anyone really want?

Nightmare Before Christmas seems like an odd choice, since it actually had its own vintage line. The odd shapes of the characters also make them not really fit the vintage mode or aesthetic, but we'll have to see what they come up with. Plus, there have been multiple lines from NBC over the years, unlike, say, Back to the Future.

Rocketeer could have Rocketeer, regular Cliff Secord, Jenny, Peevy, Nivel Sinclair (Dalton), The Rondo Hatton guy, and Howard Hughes. I can see it like a Raiders line.

Back to the Future could have multiple versions of Doc and Marty, plus the same for Biff, Marty's mom, etc.

I am already fatigued with the thought of Marty in 80's outfit, in 50's outfit, in Western outfit, in future outfit...
though I gotta say Pulp Fiction intrigues me.

Fatigued is a good way of putting it. 50s Doc, Future Doc, Future Doc with Plastic Surgery...

I want a Rocketeer figure really bad. But a Neville Sinclair? Not so much. The completist in me will feel bad leaving some of these on the table. But I think I will likely cherry pick.

It sounds like they won't hold back, but I wish they would, just a little. I'd be fine with a wide diversity of licenses, with 2-4 characters in each line.

The big question is, how long before Hasbro jumps on board with their Star Wars line? Then the floodgates would be open. It would feel bad to have more Re-Kenner carded figures than actual vintage Kenner carded figures.

70's style figures based on Pulp Fiction seems a bit anachronistic (although QT probably digs the idea), but I'm still excited about them.

I have to say, I'm getting pretty overwhelmed with the amount of license product out there in the Mego scale. Where before we would celebrate ANYTHING coming out that remotely resembled Mego, now we have countless figures coming out and new licenses being announced all the time. Add to that the limited edition offerings from Meets and its hard to imagine any stone being left unturn after a few more years. I now understand why FTC purchased so many licenses at once. Lots of companies are getting on board, so those potentially hot ticket items are going to dry up fast. Nostalgia is definitely where its at!

If "too many" figures hurt the line, or the company, then all I'd need would be Doc and Marty... 2 figures.

If not... make a billion variants... TWO billion... I'm not one of those toy geeks who has to actually collect every one of them.

                              Ones I'd like:
#1) Marty in 80's orange life-vest outfit #2) Doc in labcoat #3/#4) Doc & Marty in nuke jumpsuits #5) 50's "Teenage" Biff
#6) Future "Old Man" Biff #7) "Mad Dog" Tannen #8) Griff #9/#10) "Western" Doc & Marty #11) BTTF II "Spy" Marty
#12) BTTF II "Future Garb" Doc #13) BTTF II Alternate present '80s billionaire Biff #14) BTTF II Marty as his future son w/hoverboard accessory
#15) "Enchantment Under The Sea garb" Marty w/electric guitar accessory
