    Cool 1974 Candy Aisle Pic

This a cool picture from a 1974 Topps Candy brochure directed at retailers. I see Wacky Packages, Kung Fu cards and I loved Gold Rush. It's from a website called collectingcandy.com. The guy seems pretty serious about all kinds of candy, but he has some cool vintage stuff, too. Here's the entry on the brochure-

Snappy Gator!!!! I had that when I was very little. Little plastic alligator heads filled with gumballs. I loved them but long forgot what they were called. That's awesome.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I think out of those I remember Bazooka, big Bazooka, Gold Rush, and the bubble gum cards.

DUH! I didn't even notice the cart! Hi-C was a staple in my house back in the day! I miss opening canned drinks w/ the pokey can opener.

We never owned a pokey can opener. My dad would only buy the gumby one...

Good one! I just don't know what to call those. I have a magnetic one on my fridge. I use it to open canned milk for oatmeal and hot cocoa and Jell-O.

Those kind are called Church keys.
                          From Wikipedia:

Church key initially referred to a simple hand-operated device for prying the cap (called a "crown cork") off a glass bottle; this kind of closure was invented in 1892.[9][10] The first of these church key style openers was patented in Canada in 1900.[11] The shape and design of some of these openers did resemble a large simple key.[12] In 1935, beer cans with flat tops were marketed, and a device to puncture the lids was needed. The same churchkey opener was used for piercing those cans. It was made from a single piece of pressed metal, with a pointed end used for piercing cans—devised by D.F. Sampson,[13][14] for the American Can Company, who depicted operating instructions on the cans themselves,[15] The church key opener is still being produced, usually as an attachment to another opener. For example, a "butterfly" opener is often a combination of the church key and a serrated-wheel opener.

So when you win big in Final Jeopardy some day, you're welcome.

If I'm seeing correctly, there are Kung Fu gumcards on the shelf, and a poster made from the gumcards on the back wall!
