I love the little impish look on that girl's face. I really prefer the Lego sets of old. Not a system w/ pieces specifically geared to be one thing like a spaceship or something, b/c you really can't use those pieces for anything else. It takes away from the imagination in my opinion. I like the sets that come w/ different cool pieces, as talked about in the above print ad, that you can use to make stuff look real, but for what you want them to be."Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true." -
My kids love how the sets have evolved, but I was perfectly happy with basic blocks, some axles, and some wheels. The only thing I ever lamented was that I didn't have enough bricks. I always wanted to make buildings for my Megos, but I just couldn't stretch what i had far enough ti make it work. The closest I could ever get was three walls and a cardboard roof.Comment

for me, I'm starting to get nostalgic for when Lego was much more gender neutral. Not that it still can't be, but I think it sends a pretty strong message when "her" lego is sent over to the pink aisles. Just something I've noticed because my niece is a pretty fierce Tomboy.Last edited by samurainoir; Jan 9, '14, 4:52 PM.Comment

My son seems very happy that Lego evolved from the basic building block concept. His favourite Lego sets are the ones that involve motors, switches, lights and pneumatic pumps and pistons (that one wasn't cheap!). Now he wants the Lego sets that make programmable robots, those ones are very pricey!Comment
