    Space: Christmas 1976

Seeing all the Doctor Who merchandise in main stream stores this Christmas makes me nostalgic for the time when all Sci Fi shows were marketed towards kids.

Space:1999 mania was in full swing in 1976 and it produced buckets of memotable merchandise. That big Eagle is still something I plan on reacquiring in 2014..

On the other side of town, Star Trek was in a golden age. I really feel sorry for the Star Trek metal detector kit.

    "Metal detecting is fun!"
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

AMEN to that! There definitely seems to be a shift in the marketability of sci fi to the teen and older crowd. The stuff shown here just oozes 100% play value.
