1960s Superman Record

I bought this from a fellow Superman collector a few weeks back... a 45 with a really nice die-cut sleeve and some very cheesy Superman songs. The company that made these did a whole series of superhero records with Batman heroes and villains and a few Marvel heroes, too.

Way cool Steve! I've seen the Batman series of these but never a Supes one. Same company put out 4 Marvel ones too.

Very cool. Nice Murphy Anderson art. I have the Batman sleeve, but not the record. I wonder if the Metamporpho song is the same as the one used before his adventure record "Metamorpho, Meta-morph-o!"?

DC MUST have pushed Metamorpho on to licensees back then. He had a Filmation cartoon in development (along with Wonder Woman and a few others) that didn't make it to production. Plus, his comic sold extremely well for the first few issues, then mysteriously slagged off in sales. It's a real oddity that he got quite a bit of merchandise back in the day.
