The carded CASSHAN I got super cheap and thought I'd just open it assuming the card/bubble was trashed and it ended up being kind of a nice card so I haven't opened it.
The DOKURO KING (Skeleton King) on the purple Walder is a new favorite!
As I move along in my collecting years, I realize more and more the toys that really excited me as a kid (and the ones that I look for now) are toys that changed. Not like Transformers, but things you can work a story into, put some different clothes on, maybe change an arm or attachment. Cloth good toys like Mego and AT Joes are items from my youth that still rev my collecting engine. The 6 million dollar man with his utility arms and legs were always awesome. Captain Action and the Denys Fisher androids really capture my attention now, tho I didn't have any in my youth. Henshin Cyborg stuff also continues to blow my mind, and I think the transformation of this format to customs in the 8" scale like some of the uchgin that Dave was making from his clear bodies is what I really hope to see in the future of 8" figures.
In short - thanks for the insights into this crazy cool line of toys.
Got a nice sized box in from Japan today! Enjoy the pictures!
Motorcycle time! The silver chest engine Cyborg came with this which was super cool! The seller threw in one of the vintage catalogs too.
Along with the Motorcycle I got a bunch of the attachments and weapon sets and those fit nicely on my Recharge Station!
Also I got some extra parts, and a big surprise was that the seller included a Masked Rider X costume set! I had no idea he was going to include that. It's missing the scarf and if anyone has an extra Takara black boot I could use it for this one! Otherwise I'll get along ok with GiJoe or Captain Action boots.
