    Japanese Punch

In North America, we get clowns and Fred Flinstone. In Japan, they get kick *** TV Superheroes like Ultra-Man and Mirror Man. Advantage Japan....

"Swah!" That is one question I have for Ultraman. What the devil was he saying (in Japanese) when he would take off after defeating a monster? He would always make an exclamation, but it was never translated. Perhaps we should be thankful...

It roughly translates as "That's right, b***h."

I've always assumed it was a kiai.

And, BTW, Japan definitely had it better when it came to these, but every now and then Fred ****ed me off and I just needed to smack him in the chops.

Oh yeah, he had it coming sometimes...

Ah! That would make sense. Thanks for the clarification.

Pretty much. The sounds he made when he fought, flew or got hit were just sounds; they don't translate into anything.

Fun Fact: There's a bunch of starfish-like Pokemon that are based on Ultraman. They got the blinking lights, and on the cartoon they made the same noises he did.

Those are cool but to be fair North America got more than bop bags of Fred and Bozo. There was also Godzilla, King Kong, Universal Monsters, DC Superheroes, Marvel Superheroes, Shogun Warriors, Star Wars characters, etc.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I only own one bop bag, the King Kong one that Mego did, but if I ever stumbled across one of these cool Japanese ones for a good price, I would totally buy it. Wonder what the boxes looked like, I don't recall ever seeing a pic of one.
