    Dick Tracy Wrist TV

Larami pretty much slapped Dick Tracy's face on anything cop related in 1976 but also went the extra mile and make a toy of one of his most famous crime busting tools.

Although I've got to say the timing seems a little off, being a kid at the time my sole experience with the character came from a Mad magazine parody.

Oh Man! Gotta love it! Dick Tracy was way ahead of his time with this. I would have liked this as a kid.

So are the boxes on the sides of the watch "films" to put in the device?

I agree the timing is odd, but I have always loved the character.

Y'know.... you'd think, but it sems like there was something of a renaissance for the character going on. DC put out the big treaury edition, and there were tons of the paperback compilations available too. (MY first exposure to the chareacter.) He showed up on the Archies a lot as well. Dunno why. Was there a movie in the works?

There were talks of a movie throughout the 1970s and 1980s, finally coming to fruition with Warren Beatty's film in 1990. I can remember an item in one of Starlog's spin-offs (a trivia magazine) saying Beatty was doing it in the early 1980s, and I was all excited, not knowing how long I'd have to wait.

I remember Dick Tracy was a weekly feature in the Sunday comics. I also used to see the cartoon on "Archie's TV Funnies", (based on old comic book strips). This looks like it was a fun toy.
