How to repair Bigfoot arms?

Hello,

I have a Kenner Bigfoot doll I want to sale but the elastic band that holds the arms is broken. I searched some help but found nothing, including this forum? So if anybody could tell me how to proceed and what type of band to use that would help a lot.

you can restring them with elastic cord. ive done plenty of chewbaccas that way.

Good idea as it seems impossible with a rubber band.
