Super 7 reveals SDCC Alien ReAction Goodies

I'm not much of a modern toy news guy but the good people at Super 7 are doing a phenomenal job at pushing every one of my nostalgic toy nerd buttons.

So dedicated to channeling the ghost of Kenner, Super 7 not only issuing a SDCC early bird kit (which really is both nostalgic and a clever way to sell product they ain't got) but they're also selling figures in those little white mail away boxes that are only connected with joy to me.

You can get the details at the Super 7 website and also check out their Flickr account.

That Early Bird kit is genius! I love how the paintings are similar to the ones Kenner did for the first 12 SW figures. Looks like the kit was only available at SDCC? Too bad....

Yeah it's kind of bittersweet for me too. At least I have the luxury of the BBP exclusives...

If these are available to non-attendees I'm getting one.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

I thought you weren't much of an Alien guy, but you seem as stoked about these as I am.

As for me, I'm a big Alien fan, but I'm also mostly a vintage guy, so I'm usually not that excited about new toy releases. But as you say, these are hitting my toy nostalgia buttons too, Super7 is really handling this release well.

The Alien even comes with two right hands... for the total experience.
              Fresh, not from concentrate.

Not a fan of the property, but they are making all the right moves, and I sincerely hope this brings about a resurgence in vintage style toys.

How cool would it be to see a clone trooper sculpted to look like a vintage figure? Or all of the aliens, and other creatures.

Also, the proto doesn't have 2 right hands, the costume featured 6 fingers on each hand. (Cue Inigo Montoya).

Yeah, the prototype photo really makes it look like it has two right hands based on the angle, but the Alien has a thumb on both sides of his hand. I didn't realize this when the large Kenner Alien I bought first showed up in the mail, and I had a bad moment at first when I thought my new expensive toy acquisition was suffering from a factory mistake.

I'm not an Alien guy at all but I am a fan of the format and like the whole idea behind this.

I would love these figures but I really am against and tired of "convention exclusive" this and that
