El Hombre Nuclear aka The Six Million Dollar Man

Thought I would share a couple quick photos of this ultra rare version of the SMDM released through Lili Ledy in Mexico that I just picked up off eBay.

These figures are difficult to come by, especially with their engine accessory. The condition is a little rough, buts rarity makes up for that. Besides once I have it in hand a little cleaning will go a long way. Anyone else have this figure, please post share with us all.

Very nice, I've been meaning to pick up one of these myself. They turn up in various conditions fairly regularly on ebay (very rarely with an engine like yours though), so I'll try to grab one eventually. The only boxed one I ever saw was in a toy store in Japan (of all places!). He wasn't on my radar at the time, so I passed on it. Really wish I had grabbed him now.

Always a favorite! I sold off boxed lady and man versions a while ago. The commitment to the scale was the killer for me.

          Keep the Mexico vibe alive!

As a rule, they were cheaper than the real thing and broke more easily.

Japan? Wow of all places. I have been holding off for awhile now, and decided it would make a nice Father's Day gift! I am happy with this piece, a little tlc will go a long way on this example.

Scale? I believe they are about 13 inches tall. Same as the regular. I assume based on research but this will be the first I have seen in person.

Oh, sorry, didn't mean to suggest the Ledy was different from the Kenner, but the 13" stuff I had to leave behind in general.

There is one on eBay right now in near mint condition, and has a repro box. It's located in Mexico. I personally have never purchased anything from Mexico, but of the few people I know who had........the results were never good. So if your a daring sort.......now is your chance.

As promised here are some photos and comparisons to its US counter part.

The first thing that stood out to me when I took it out of the box was its weight. The ledy version is much heavier. In part I believe that this is due to its overall size and the way it's put together.

As you can see in the below photos there is a significant height difference between the two figures. I was always under the impression that the ledy version was smaller due to its Mego like construction. Nope just the opposite. This figure stands almost a full 1/2 inch taller!

His body construction is the same as Mego with the limbs attached in the legs by a ball joint and chords. While the arms are the same as the US version that utilizes just the ball joint. However unlike the US version the arms cant raise perpendicular to the body. The heads are similar, with the Ledy version face being smaller in size with much softer details.

The hip area of the Ledy are much wider, again due to the Mego like configuration, and the thighs are very thick/ muscular, like a weight lifter.

His shoes are more squat in size, and have the center tongue painted in, while the US versions are longer with no painted tongue. The Ledy is also missing the painted top strings being painted.

The hands of the figures as seen greatly differ, along with the engine accessory.

The suits are of a slightly different material and the Ledy has a deeper red appearance, with a scaled up design to accommodate the height difference.

On all the Ledy examples I have see each one has a sticker emblem as opposed to the silk style of its US counter part. I am not sure if these are all replaced overtime, or were standard, but even a boxed example I saw had a sticker as opposed to the silk chest logo.

There are no manufacture information on the body, and the waist will swivel side to side same as the regular version.

My overall impressions...........this figure is pretty awesome!
