    Some rummage sale finds

Stopped at a rummage sale yesterday picked up some cool stuff at great prices.

Star Wars 45 record case - The case is in excellent condition and is dated 1982. It was filled with books & cassettes such as voltron, Star trek, Star Wars & Super powers. Got this all for $5.00.
    Here's the case...

Here it is with the books that were inside it.

I also picked up this Rough Riders - Danger Mountain set. At least I think it is. Upon further review the car may be from something different. It is only the car that needs to be assembled but it was only $2.00 so I figured why not. The rest of the box is printed on with details of the toy and still looks good except for the torn part shown.

I also grabbed on of my favorite childhood board games for a $1.00

Have picked up a lot of cool stuff lately that I will post later. This was just the most recent.
Thanks for looking. Comments are appreciated.

After my rummage finds post I decided to look and see what was actually in the Rough Riders box. Couldn't believe what I pulled out. Not bad for $2.00 wouldn't you say?

Came with everything you see stuffed inside.

Awesome find! I had Danger Mountain, used to use that with both Stompers and Rough Riders. Danger Mountain was a one piece giant Styrofoam mountain. Is it actually in that box? I would love to see a picture of it. And the Star Wars record tote with the great goodies inside is super nice. Love that kind of stuff

Sorry but the Big Jim Sports Camper was inside the box. Got a cool Big Jim toy & a cool looking rough riders box for $2. Can't beat that. Funny thing is that I almost didn't get it. Grabbed it at the last minute after debating for awhile.

                  Fantastic find!
Had the Big Jim camper, loved it, that's awesome finding one in such decent condition.
The Buena Vista vinyls & cassettes are also a great score.

Rummage sales are the best. Especially the church charity ones. A lot of older women are involved with churches and you never know WHAT kind of little johnny's toys they will take out of the attic to donate and everything at these sales is dirt cheap. You never have to worry about any of that "Well, I saw it on eBay" crap.

I know I had that Return of the Jedi record/book set. For that matter, I still do, but I would have to dig through things to find it.

                      What was the Rough Riders?

Rough Riders were little trucks that operates on a single aa battery. they had bigger foam type rubber wheels& headlights and would drive over things. I had them when I was in grade school but that was along time ago so my memory may be off a bit.

Both Stompers and Rough Riders were essentially the same thing- pretty much small battery operated cars/trucks

here is an ad for Stompers

and for Rough Riders I found this one:

^^Thanks for the answers. I vaguely remember these but was never really into trucks and so probably just passed them by.

Stompers and Rough Riders were quite a fad during my early days in elementary school. Every boy had them. Stompers were generally thought to be the "real" deal, and Rough Riders were considered the generic rip-off. Kind of like Transformers and Go-Bots.

Great finds! My wife has the Barbie camper that uses the same molds and parts as the Big Jim one you found.
