Suzuki Vinyl Superman figure from Japan
Today's Superman collectible from my site is a rare Suzuki Vinyl Superman figure still on the original (beat to crap) card dated 1979.

NEAT! The large image of Superman on the front of the card is the one Andy Warhol swiped for his Superman "masterpiece".
I love odball stuff like this. Is it officially licensed?

I think it is, Chris. It has a DC Comics copyright in the lower left.

Very cool, I've never seen this before. I have seen a couple different die-cast Superman toys released in Japan in that same era. Weird, there was never much Superman merchandise released in Japan (compared to Batman or Spider-man), but there was a little bit of a mini-surge of merchandising there in the late 70's (oddly, from different manufacturers), perhaps due to the Superman film? (although I haven't seen any that actually use the film's graphics in their packaging)Comment
