A Lucky Find

It's not a big find by any means but it was still satisfying to get lucky today. Recently, I happened across five 1977 7-11 Marvel superhero glasses.

I have a slight memory of these, but I wasn't sure how large the line was. I thought about asking here but a quick internet search showed that I was only missing one- Hulk. I've found a few on ebay, but they were a little too pricey. Well, I just decided to stick my head in an antique store today that I've never visited. It had the usual furniture, etc. Sure enough in the back of the store there a few glasses and sitting right in front was the Hulk.

Like I said, not a big find by any means, but it was really cool to simply luck into it.

Those are great! The only one I have is the Hulk. Found it at a local comic shop on Free Comic Book Day for $7.50. Love that Howard the Duck.

I've seen those, but never in person. I always wondered where they came from. I knew of the 7-11 cups, but we don't have 7-11 in these parts (still don't!), so I never had any chance to get them.

An "in the wild" find like that is ALWAYS that much sweeter. It's the hunter/gatherer in us, maybe.

I picked them up for about $7 each, but paid $12 for Hulk to finish the collection. A search on ebay say sellers asking everything from $5 to $50.

That is a great price for them, I know the DC ones go for 10-20, I thought these might be more as they seem harder to find. Gotta keep an eye out for the duck!

I have the DC sets but no Marvels. I'll have to fix that. Great pick-ups.

I have 3 Howard the Duck's, a Cap and a Hulk.

Cant seem to find the rest.

These carnival glass cups break easily, so I try and buy them whenever I see them...just in case.

I've got a complete set of these, the 74 and 77 marvel plastic cups, dc moon and non moon glasses. All complete sets except I think I sold a couple of the dc moon glasses. If you're looking to buy sets contact me.
