    Help with Shogun Warriors

I want to get some of the big Shoguns. I had Mazinga as a kid and he was second only to my Megos WGSH.

What can I expect to pay for a Mazinga? Dragun? Raydeen?? THose are the three I remember, though I only had "Great Mazinga"

I am not into the Japanese robot stuff too much and I know nothing about it. I am thinking the Mattel versions right??

Where is the best place to get some info on Shoguns?? ANy help is appreciated friends and neighbors...

Some great info (photos are kind of lacking though) on the US Shoguns can be found here:

Prices are all over the map on these guys, depending on completeness, condition, and day of the week. I've seen nice ones go cheap, and well used, incomplete ones go for more than they should. Just study completed ebay auctions, and be patient, and you should get some deals. These toys are actually quite common, Mattel made a crapload of them, so there are always plenty on ebay. The only time they get really expensive is if you are looking for mint, unplayed with examples in nice boxes, those are definitely not common.

The large Shoguns are some of my all time favourite toys, I loved my childhood Shogun Mazinga and Godzilla, they were right up there with my Megos. Good luck!

Be patient. Be patient. Be patient. I got three of mine off of eBay for $100 or less, BUT did have to get parts for Dragun and Mazinga, which upped the cost. I lost a lot of auctions, but eventually got the ones I wanted for a price I was willing to pay.

^^^Those are beautiful. I'd always wanted a Raydeen. I had Dragun, but ended up breaking off one of his head spikes. I kinda want to rectify that life mistake by getting a replacement.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

These sites will help fuel your new Machinder lust:

The term "jumbo machinder" will be used here to define all toys that fall into the "machinder" category and that approach the size of the official "Jumbo Machinder" toy line by Popy (60cm or 23"). Typically, toys 20" or more will fall into this category. However, this category shall include toys by all makers, not just Popy.

Oh yeah, collectiondx is a really fun site to visit, and Jumbo expert nekrodave has a bunch of reviews there.

Another cool site is Sean Bonner's Jumboland: http://sixsite.com/jumboland/index2.html Unfortunately it was never finished, and hasn't been updated in over 10 years. Back in the day I learned a lot when I visited there though. That reminds me, Sean worked at Playboy magazine, and back around 2000 he managed to get a photo session arranged with some nude Playboy models and some of his collection of Jumbo Machinders and Shogun Warriors. And believe it or not, this was the second time this happened, because in some girlie magazine back in the late 70's (maybe Gallery?), there was a pictorial of a nude girl posing with Shogun Warriors. But enough on that tangent.

I probably have some of those 70's mag pics on one of my hard drives (and I'm pretty sure I have the actual magazine that contains the newer pictorial somewhere in my "archives") , but don't really think I could post them here. If your google-fu is good enough, you might be able to find some. Oh yeah, maybe check out skullbrain as Iron Mego mentioned.
