Recently a bunch of my friends exchanged thoughts on this old mystery to me. I'm sure it's been brought up at Mego Museum before, but does anyone care to chime in with something they remember or felt about this historical scenario, that hasn't been touched upon, or hasn't been articulated well enough. Without a hint of sarcasm, I find this to be one of the greatest mysteries of "Classic Toys".
Here's what I wrote in the e-mail I sent back to my friends in the midst of this discussion:
"There's nothing about this Zuckuss/4-LOM conversation that I don't like.
And, I will say that as a kid, the whole "action figure name mix up" between them REALLY ****ed with my head.
I was VERY interested in the Bounty Hunters, particularly the guy who I THOUGHT was "Zuckuss" but TURNED OUT to be "4-LOM".
That character was hidden in the back, and just as vitally mysterious to me as the Emperor or Jabba.
I got so confused when I'd read about the two characters in the novel or in short Burger King promo blurbs, because it SEEMED like they mixed the characters up... or something... but I thought to myself "HOW could they DO that? That would be a MAJOR mistake."
And these days, I don't know WHAT to think."
Thoughts?
