How do you feel about price stickers on packages?

I see a lot of nice collections here, and many of them have price tags on the boxed or carded items. It seemed like years ago, back in the early 90s, most people liked to remove the tags with Goo-Gone or other similar product. But now, it seems like more folks like to keep the tags/stickers as a badge of honor, showing where the toy was sold, especially when it references stores that are no longer in business.

Heck, even price tags are becoming obsolete, with most major chains no longer using them in favor of bar codes and shelf pricing.

So what's your take on it. To remove, or not remove?

I never remove a price tag, I have some that connect me right to time and place of purchase as a kid.

That's why i put Woolco price stickers on the Brick and Super Collector cards.

I generally wouldn't remove it- unless it was covering the bubble or something like that. If it's in a more 'common' place (ie., the cardback) and is original, I'd leave it on.

If it's not the original sticker, but the bright green "$5" from a garage sale, it's got to come off!

I can't stand them. However, I'm usually too scared to try and remove them.

I love 'em. It's a piece of history on the toy. Where it was sold, and how much it cost when it was new. It's great. And I liked that Anthony, (Toyroom) put a Woolworth price sticker om BKs Batman toys. Very cool.

I'm with her, I think they look great on the package, even if they are worn abit.

I like them. Only time I don't is when there are multiple ones on the card. Like when the store would reduce the price of the figure and slap another price sticker on it.

I generally don't like them, especially if they're covering some of the card art. I usually try to remove them if possible.

Thumbs down. I have been removing price stickers for 20 years and am quite good at it. I like the clean case fresh look of no sticker, though I do appreciate price stickers from a few long forgotten chains if they are well placed (up in the corner).

Either works for me, but I usually keep them on because the chance of tearing the card.

My pet peeve is when sellers place their own price stickers on vintage cards.

I think I've removed price tags from most of my carded and boxed stuff. I can see regretting it one day as having a 2.99 price tag on a vintage figure just adds to the retro feel. However, I do like the clean look if it's a nice card. Also, since so much of my vintage stuff comes from eBay, the stickers are from stores that have no real sentimental value to me.

I've actually paid a little more to get a good figure with a sticker from a store I remembered as a child. I have a weird fondness of anything from defunct Two Guys chain.

Someone actually has an ebay auction listed right now with nothing but nine price stickers claimed to be from Mego products-

A small original sticker is cool, those big markdown stickers bum me out. In the 90's I always took the stickers off the new toys I was collecting
