Great podcast.
Yeah, I used to watch those hosting segments with Judith Merril on TVO, and as a kid I thought she seemed very negative about the show and the character.
My local bookstore stocked a few of the Target novelizations (they sold a lot of British books which had the Canadian, Australian and New Zealand RRPs on the back covers), and my local library actually had a big selection of them.
I remember my school in Ontario screened some episodes of "The Phoenix and the Carpet" in class.
And also the full series of "The Doombolt Chase".
I suggested they screen some episodes of Doctor Who, but they weren't interested.

Great podcast guys.
Doctor Who was a show I distinctly remember watching laying at my dad's feet on Sunday afternoons in either the very late 70's or very early 80's. I remember it being really creepy, so I was glad to hear I wasn't the only one (In fact the day after listening to the podcast my wife brought home an Entertainment Weekly with an article with Peter Jackson where he talks about watching doctor who hiding behind the couch). I've never seen an episode that wasnt a Tom Baker episode so I cant really comment on too much. Pretty sure netflix has the series from the beginning, so hopefully I can catch it all at some point.Comment

Yeah, it's on break but certainly not dead.
I also enjoy any discussion of pre-internet collecting. I think many of us had some a cool store (or 2) we hit prior to the internet or Ebay.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

As far as cool stores go, Brian mentioned it on the podcast, and yeah, the Silver Snail was a definite mecca for me every time I was in Toronto. The first time I visited the store back when I was a teenager, I almost lost my mind.Comment

Yes!!! You guys finally did it. This was a powerhouse of podcasting. It was nearly 2 hours and I still wanted MORE! When LENZI said: "It's time to wrap it up." I thought "NO! You can't go!" Thank you for taking the time to put this together. The Kickstarter Dalek idea is a must.
Could you imagine recording a podcast with you 2 in the same room? The internet wouldn't be big enough to hold it. Record soon. Maybe at some point you can tackle the Lone Ranger Gabriel line?If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.Comment

I enjoyed the podcast. I think you guys really touched on some key points on the Dr. Who series and concept. Sadly I share Jason's problem with No exposure to Who Merchandise. So I got kinda left behind when certain items were mentioned. Its too bad some visual reference can't be added Like a power point presentation.Comment

the 3rd doctor is the first where every story exists in the archives (but for several episodes the only copies are black and white film prints) an ongoing effort has been done to recolor these with mixed results. Tom Baker's era is the first that exists in it's entirety as broadcast but niether of them has had every story released on dvd yet (but all were released on video)
if you want to watch them in broadcast order the BBC site has the order http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/classic/episodeguide/Comment
