The hungry mouse in the cheese house

This is just one of those weird generic things that the Imperial Toy Corporation was good at in the 1970s. Rubber mice and a fake bit o'cheese, not sure what the point is but I bet kids wanted it. Not so much with collectors, I nabbed two of these for $0.99 just in time to include it in the book.

I think it's pretty neat how the toys work on the cardback like that. Makes a nice little scene.

But what's with the mouse with the body of a hand grenade?

Kill it! Kill it! Kill it!

      I hate meeces to pieces.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

        That's the armoured Battle-Mouse variant.

I had the "grenade" looking mouse as a kid. I remember using him as the mouse on the motorcycle from the Beverly Cleary book. I always thought it looked to be like matted hair rather than spikes.
          It's all good!

The art on the cards is always the best part, IMO.

I vaguely remember something similar toy-wise??? Does the cheese have a magnet in it that attracts the mice. Making them look like they are chasing after it???
