    Star Raiders Updates

It's been over a year since I launched the Tomland Star Raiders gallery on the site and I've had some good luck with regards to new images and information thanks to some lovely people who like to share.

For those not in the know, the Star Raiders were a brazen and rather kooky attempt to cash in on Star Wars without paying for it. These crude 8" figures are just so full of joy and a childish amount of creativity (that's a compliment)

So, many galleries have been updated with new photographs and information, although there is still a lot of gaps, so if you are a collector and would like to help, please drop me a line.

Visit the revised Star Raiders Gallery here.

    Love this stuff sooooo much!

I might have something to help the cause. I'll email you for details about what's needed.

I have absolutely no memory of these as a child, none. Dagon is obviously inspired by Ross Perot.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

Yeah, these totally went under my radar as a kid. I'd been up for generic aliens for my Mego WGSH to fight, since I had no villains (sob).

What was the "Special Offer" on the last version cards?

Count me in as someone who never saw Star Raiders figures when I was a kid (although I wish I did!). The closest I came was stumbling upon a Famous Monsters carded Cyclops at a Kmart. I wish I still had him, I don't know what ended up happening to it.

              Heee heee heeee....

These were some of my favourites as a kid, even though I only had a handful of the 8" ones. Found them in Toronto at the Yorktown Eatons. They were on clearance. Same day I first saw Star Blazers and Doctor Who.

Always loved the weird, no-name figures like these 'cos it gave me a chance to make stuff up.
