Toys That Were Made to Be Broken

Remember the shoddy toys you begged your parents to buy while waiting in the supermarket checkout line, then promptly lost interest in before the day's en...

That is a fantastic interview, it brings back many fond AHI memories. My RC Hulk pickup truck is just a few feet away, I may need to throw some batteries in and take it for a spin over the holidays. Not a rack toy, I know, but it takes me back to Zaius parachutes, Cornelius squirt guns, and useless walkie talkies.

Great interview, it really whets my appetite for the book. I was familiar with that Batman squirt gun (who isn't!) but I don't recall seeing it's header card before, I love that art! And I hope that Spectreman "Bowling Pump" is in the book, wanna see that.

          >One of the most bizarre items I found was a water pistol in the shape of Adam West as Batman.

A-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!! That one kills me EVERY TIME I see it!

Lots of good stuff there.... but I HATE how that Hercules ring has been turing up in different articles lately.... mostly 'cos I kinda want one now. (There's an evil wizard down the street who needs sortin' out and the power of Hercules would be a big help.)

I was already sold, but if I wasn't, I'd buy the book now, based on that interview. I think it's obvious that you don't have to be a toy expert to enjoy the book, just love pop culture.

Great interview. Clearly Brian knows his stuff, but more than that, you really get a sense of the love and fun that comes from these quirky little toys.

Really hoping this one is waiting for me under the tree.
