    A Christmas Day visit to my great-aunt's house showcasing three new favorite gifts:
    Willie Tyler's "Lester" ventriloquist dummy, a tape recorder and Mint In Box Mego Riddler.

        We would have been friends. I was obsessed with the ventriloquist doll pages in the Sears catalogs. And who among us did not wear out a tape recorder recording tv shows?

              I would've loved the tape recorder and the riddler, but that creepy doll would have to go! You couldn't have convinced me that that thing was not AWARE!

                        Oh yeah when I saw Lester on a bunch of variety shows in the 70s I knew I had to have one.

                        That tape recorder captured episodes of such fare like "Scooby Doo", "The Lone Ranger", "The Twilight Zone"...
