    Osmond Mania!

I'm finally coming to grips with the actual amount of time I probably spent watching the Donny and Marie show, sure the choice to watch it was made by my older sister, who at five years my senior could totally take me.
However, I will attest to kind of enjoying the experience. I watched a lot of variety shows as a kid, they were just part of our culture and the fact that we only got like 9 channels, one of them French growing up.
I don't think I've ever noticed the Donny and Marie van before, the 1970s "Vans to Action figure lines" ratio is looking about 75% right now. Things are right with the world. For more Fashion Mockery and 70's toy love visit us at Plaid Stallions.com

I have a Donny doll. I knew about the stage set, (someone I knew had one I think), but I didn't know about the van. But yes, I remember Friday nights, watching Donny and Marie...taking bathroom and food breaks during commercials, and Marie's "A Little Bit Country" segment.

I have a sister 7 years older than me, so it was always on in our home too. I thought Marie was cute, even in my pre-schooler years. And hey, they looked like the Wonder Twins!

My sister had the dolls. I don't recall if she had anything else from the line.

Each van comes with a coupon for a free bag of walnuts and a Donny and Marie Toothbrush.

I used to watch D&M every week, but for the life of me, I cannot remember a single thing about the show. weird.

My main memory of the Donny & Marie show was that it was aired (on ABC) opposite of Wonder Woman (on CBS). I remember switching over to D&M during WW's commercial breaks to catch a few minutes of a song or sketch. This was back in the days before all the networks pretty much synchronized their commercial breaks and you were able to actually watch another show during the commercials.

The Wonder Woman episode "Amazon Hot Wax" featured a wholesome, clean cut brother-sister singing duo (played by Sarah Purcell and Judge Reinhold!!) very obviously based on Donny and Marie who turn out to be evil in the end. It was a subtle, but clever joke since the two shows really were "fighting" each other in terms of ratings/time slot. (I believe Donny and Marie ultimately won that battle. LOL!)

Now I have to go find that on my WW DVD sets. "Amazon Hot Wax" conjures up many images though...

My wife is a huge D&M fan so I bought her the dolls a few years ago for Xmas...also bought her the Stage Set the next year but the condition was really not up to par so we ended up selling it. Looks like my new mission will be to find the van.

I loved Marie Osmond when i was a Kid, my Sister loved Donny.....Loved watching the show with my Mom and sis. My Cousin had the dolls....I found a Beat up Marie Doll at a flea market and restored her.....My Wife made me take her to a Donny Osmond concert a few years back......he's a hell of a performer so i got nothing bad to say about him.....

Rick Springfield is in that ep, and Lynda Carter sings great!
