    Swiss:1999

If you're stranded on an alien planet and the beer bottles aren't screw off, this puppy will be worth it's weight in gold. What's sad about this thing is, I've spent about twenty minutes looking through catalogs trying to find the version of this that has images from the show's second season.

It's getting a little obsessive when I spend this much time looking for a picture of Martin Landau in an orange jacket, I need to go lay down.

There is plenty of Space:1999 goodies in my upcoming book, shipping this month!:

You just know some intrepid kids came to the dinner table with this thing.

I remember seeing this along with a Space:1999 "movie viewer" at the drugstore my mom worked at in the late-70s and wanting them so badly simply because they were Space:1999 toys. Kind of funny, I still want them now for the exact same reason! LOL! I think I was more excited about the packaging than I was the actual toys.

The "movie viewer" was this box with a cut out "screen" and a roller at the top and bottom. The "movie" was a long strip of paper with pictures that you unrolled across the "screen" from the bottom roller to the top. I think it came with two "movies" of which I don't even know if they were actually Space:1999 themed or not. Does anyone else remember that or something similar?

Even though I see Space:1999 memorabilia on a daily basis throughout my house, I had forgotten all about those two particular items and that story until now. That's what I love about this site. The way it pull can long forgotten memories from deep within the catacombs (Space:1999 pun intended) of your mind.

Thanks Brian. Can't wait to see all the other fun stuff in your book. Have already pre-ordered my copy.
