    To the Mini-Batmobile!

Stopped by one of my favorite vintage toy collectible shops today and picked up a Corgi Mini-Batmobile.

Here she is next to her big sister.

With a Corgi Batcopter already in the Batcave..

My next purchase will be a Corgi Batboat. It never ends.

I used to have a lot of fun with the larger Corgi Batmobile that I got at K-Mart back in the 70s. I'm not familiar with the smaller version.

I wasn't aware there was a Corgi Batmobile between the full size and the junior!

Sorry gents, turns out what I bought is a Husky Batmobile. When I flipped it over at the store I saw the raised image of Batman and just assumed it was a Corgi.

After doing some research, I came across a comparison of the Corgi Jr and the Husky:

The Corgi Jr has an unpainted Black Batman figure in it. This figure is not removable. The wheels are Wizz Wheels. The front grill has a red insert in it. The sticker on the back is the same size as the one on the larger Corgi Batmobile door. The windows are tinted blue and the 3 pipes in the back are red. It has a plastic bottom half with no image on it. There is no moving flame on the rear of the car and it has a tow knob. The tow knob viered in that it could also be a round hole to insert the batboat trailer.

The Husky has a painted Batman and Robin(much nicer!) Grey wheels, chromed pipes in the back, bat emblems on the doors, a black front section and a red flame that juts in and out when the wheels move(just like the bigger model.) A really nice touch is the complete metal base and a raised image of Batman on it, just like the regular Corgi Batmobile. Also a neat thing and maybe a bad thing for collectors is that the figures can be cut apart and removed and played with.

Aren't Husky and Corgi somewhat related?

Cool Car. I think I might have had that at some point in my childhood.
                It's all good!

You're right Chris. Just looked it up and both the Corgi and Husky lines were produced by Mettoy Playcraft Ltd. Never even knew about Husky until today.

Actually, the Husky is the little version and the Corgi is the large version from the same company "Corgi" which is a switch because the Husky is a large dog and Corgi, a small dog

There are variations of the husky/corgi jr batmobile. Most notable, is the wizzwheels version from 1969 that has the panted batman/robin seated. The Husky with the regular wheels was released in 1966 with and without the towhook. The one most mego collectors is familiar with was released in 1976. It has the little black batman seated and is much more cheaply made than the earlier models, but what isn't these days.

Very cool! That brings back memories! I had one of those as a kid.....not sure what brand it was, but I remember it had a red plastic "flame" that stuck out of the exhaust pipe in back and when it rolled, the flame moved in and out to give a flickering appearance.

Not meaning to hijack the thread. It is a good thread for those who don't know about this item but if anyone is needing/wanting one of these huskie's, let me know. I can send pics. I have one I can sell. Thx, Len
