The Lone Ranger and Tonto Too!

Picked these guys up recently. Both are loose at the waist and legs (Tonto is really loose) The Lone Ranger is missing one gun. Tonto has both of his. Clothes are a little dirty but overall they display nicely. What accessories came with these two? Did they make Horses for them. Gotta do some research!

Congrats! Those are a nice find. Mine are loose in the waist, too. Looks like you're just missing the mask from LR and the headband from Tonto. There were other characters in the series, a compliment of horses, a bunch of accessory/adventure packs, and a town playset. Its a cool series.

Thanks. A lot more stuff for them than I thought there would be!

The Lone Ranger was pretty popular and the Hubley/Gabriel/Marx line ran for a while. I just wish there was an easy way to tighten up the figures. The way they glued them together, you pretty much have to cut them open to fix the elastic. Here's what mine look like.

I got the gift set with Lone Ranger, Tonto, Silver and Scout for Christmas in the early 80s. I still have my original horses, but the figures bit the dust over the years. Got a nice Tonto about 20 years ago, and 10 years ago lucked into a boxed Lone Ranger complete (well, minus comic). It would be VERY easy for me to go full throttle into this line. I think it's one of the most beautifully designed and conceived lines in toy history.

I'm with you Chris. I watch these on ebay constantly looking for boxed figures. I can't see buying the loose ones since they would be as loose-waisted as the ones I have. And the box art is the best of any toy line. There is a buy-it-now auction for that missing comic if you really wanted to complete your LR. $5 seller is duckiepoo10.

That is a nice set. Silver doesn't have much discoloration along the seams. There is someone selling 2 sets of the stickers for silver and the instructions on eBay right now. $10

I first got these both as sets (Lone Ranger w/ Silver and Tonto w/ Scout) when they were rereleased around 1980. I received them for Christmas and was in love with them.

I got a bunch of these for my birthday and Christmas during their original release in the 70's: Lone Ranger, Tonto, Butch Cavendish, Silver, Scout, a few accessory sets and Tonto's tee-pee. For some reason, my parents were kind of stingy on gifting me Mego Superheroes but went all out on Lone Ranger, I don't get it. I guess I liked them ok enough as a kid, but part of me was always thinking "these aren't as cool as my superhero guys".

My girls (8 and 10) told me they had some horses for them to ride.
