    Sectaur love

Was going through my stored collections to thin some items and rediscovered my Sectaurs (Coleco 1985).

Man, these were awesome--well-made & well-designed. Too bad they cost so much and Wave 2 wasn't released.

Compared to MOTU, they are more Megoesque in their size & articulation.

Sectaurs: Gen. Spidrax is the coolest--he has a toy cameo in Princess Bride!
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

I never had any of the figures, but I did collect all the issues of the Marvel series.
    They were a cool line.

      Hmmmm....

Sectaurs was a neat series. The toys came out around the end of my "Playing with" time. (Well.... the slowing of it; I never REALLY stopped playing with my toys....) They were really well done, awesome idea, looked good, bug monsters are always cool.... Even the comic was pretty good. Even the show was better than average for the time:

You know what made Sectaurs so cool? Two words: bug puppets. Such cool toys.

I think Sectaurs suffered kinda from the same problem as Power Lords. It was hard for kids to tell the diffence between the heroes and the villains. The cartoon mini series was really good too.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

They could make such an awesome sci-fi CGI film of Sectaurs now.

Funny that this thread started, we just pulled out my spider hand puppet from Sectaurs out of the attic this past weekend. My son loved that thing!

Love Sectaurs. Still missing a few figures, but have all of my originals from childhood.

It's never been released on home video but you can check it out on youtube.

                    ^Thanks!

Great pic--The Hyve has to be the most impressive playset of the '80s, barring the GI Joe RAH carrier. It's huge!

It is right up there with the FLAGG and Eternia.

Wow! Thanks for posting this thread.

I just happened to think of Sectaurs today.

                        They were really great.

I wonder what happened to my playset and figures.

I kept track of all my other toys. Weird.

Aside from a Hoth Rebel I lost outside and some things too far damaged.

I think my 12 inch Boba Fett was confiscated for being too doll like.
