    Revenge of the Lincoln Monsters!

Life is strange, if you had asked me 30 days ago if there was going to be a Lincoln Monster update in the Halloween blog posts this year, I'd have answered no.

Truth was, there wasn't much by the way of things to update. Then all hell broke loose and I've got more than I could ever hope to share, including the reveal of the Dracula solid box and the amazing Spiegel mailer set with it's girl victim, not to mention new variations! More after the jump:

Like I said, October 2012 has been an embarrassment of riches for me when it came to Lincoln Monsters, although that's probably the wrong term as some of this stuff has pretty much forced me into "Toy Collecting Retirement" for at least a year.

First and foremost, here is a group photo that I have been dying to take for some time.

For the first time ever (at least on the web) here is a complete set of Lincoln Solid Boxes, including the Lord of Carpathia himself:

Dracula! This thing has haunted me for years, so I'm overjoyed to bringing it's beauty to the interwebs. But that isn't it, not by a long shot, the whole site got a great deal prettier this October with shots of ....

The Girl Victim gift set! we've got shots of the 1975 Spiegel catalog set complete with monsters and cardboard. This is honestly something I never expected to turn up but October brings out the Monster toys!

That's not all, we've cataloged more variants this year including like the Mummies above but also the three versions of Dracula, Wolfman and Frankenstein too.

All that plus new improved photos, commentary, some fan art and much more.

The girl victim reminds me of a straight arm Dinah-Mite, or maybe a blonde Rock Flower doll. Do you know what head mold was used?

He looks quite pleased. AND 12.

Hee hee heeee...... awesome! I've been resisting the urge to collect these; although for myself, decent repro heads would be all I'd need....

There's a whole lot of love there. Congrats on finally finding that Dracula box. The naive artwork is one of the really appealing things about the line for me. They definitely have an innocent Halloween charm about them!

Maybe it is just my weird mind, but does anyone else see Wolfman looking like Gilligan and Frankenstein looking like the Professor?

Those boxes are just awesome all together. There is just something magical about solid boxes for any toy line.
                  It's all good!

I remember an episode where Gilligan was convinced he was turning into a vampire after being bitten by a bat, and then in a dream sequence he was Dracula (and the Professor was Sherlock Holmes and Skipper was Watson).

I always thought the Wolfman looked like Jimmy Stewart for some odd, inexplicable reason.

Glad you guys are digging it, it's been an obsession of mine since I was a kid and about five years back I decided to make these guys a priority.

That made for some long stretches of nothing but it was worth it. Now that I'm kind of "done"*, I don't really have much by way of collecting ambitions. It's oddly liberating....

*Unless something new gets discovered Lincoln wise.

The nicest of the nicest sets. And those boxes are crazy sweet, too. Super congrats and thank for the fine photos.
