I was just wondering if anyone else from this board attended the FX Collectibles Show in Orlando, FL this past weekend. If so, what did you think of it and/or did you buy anything?

...and you didn't even say hi you bum!
Just kidding, glad you had a good time. Was this your first one? I noticed a serious lack of Baby Boomer era stuff from the 60's and 70's this year. I did pick up an extremely favorable score of Big Jim stuff though with a lot of PACK items including The Beast and The Whip Buggy.- SweepComment

yup,I try and go every year.Wasn't that good for me this year, didn't see any good deals like I usually see.It was a lot smaller then the previous years and I think charging $20 for admission was too much...but it was cool meeting Brian and Lepage and the celeb's

OK, that's it! Next year we are having the first annual Plaid Stallions appreciation club meeting at FX!
I agree that the selection was not what it has been but I am still very happy with what I got. I wasn't very keen on the celebrity list this year either. It was mainly people from currents shows I either don't watch or had not even heard of. I thought The Warriors reunion was pretty cool though.
I bought a bag full of Mego parts for $22, a bag full of Mego Star Trek stuff including two figures for $25, and a pair of working Mego Star Trek communicators for $45.- SweepComment

The 30 dollars (20 to get in and 10 to park) just to get in the door are keeping me away. It was much better at the fairgrounds a few years ago.You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

It was still $20 to get in at the Fairgrounds two years ago and it was only $6 to park at the convention center this past weekend, not $10. I personally pay the $50 for the weekend pass to get in early on Friday. It's worth it for the deals I get before the regular show hours start and o be able to move around freely without a crowd of people stuck up your butt at every table. I like the convention center much better than the Fairgrounds because everything is in a single room. At the Fairgrounds you had to walk all the way across them to get from one vendor area to the other one. If it had rained that weekend it would have been a disasster. I admit I also think the admission is high but this still, by far, the best bang for your buck in FL.- SweepComment

I gotta agree,I liked the fairground show a lot more.It was huge, with a great cast and decent prices on things to eat outside, eating in this place is a rip[/QUOTE]
The guests were better at the Fairground but that's a factor of the promoter's selection and availability, not the location of the show. I agree, the convention center is a tremendous rip off on food prices and I would never buy food or drinks there but I don't trust the cleanliness of the Fairgrounds so I wouldn't buy anything their either no matter how cheap it was. I don't go to these shows to eat though - I go to buy collectibles. There are more restraunts around the convention center where you can get a decent lunch for $7-$8 after you are done at the show.- SweepComment
