I had forgotten to tell my mom that a party I was going to was a sleep over party until the day before the party. Of course I didn't have a sleeping bag, so my mom ran out to the store to get me one.
She came home with a sleeping bag with all the NBA teams on it. All the other girls had cute character bags and I had a basketball bag. I was soooo disappointed but it was the only one she could find. I hated that sleeping bag and was always hoping it would rip or the zipper would break, but that thing was indestructible.
Too bad she didn't get me that cool Spiderman Bag.Leave a comment:

Awesome!
Hey Brian, do you have the '76 Sears Wishbook? There's a bag in there that ups the DORRITOS sleeping bag ante---a PURINA DOG CHOW sleeping bag. It boggles the mind.....Leave a comment:

I remember when Doritos bag looked like that! I lived on those things as a kid (and they're still my fave chip!) I would have like to have had that one.Leave a comment:

I have a bag like that Anthony. I don't have any pics, but the Riddler is in a similar pose (although I think he's turned to the left instead of straight on). The Joker and Penguin are the same as the classic Infantino/Anderson poses that Mego used. I also have a "Super_Gals" bag with a large Murphy Anderson Wonder Woman image (same as Mego), and Infantino/Anderson Batgirl (Mego). Another Batman bag I have, the one I used as a child, has the classic Batman swinging on rope image Mego "traced" for Batman's boxes.I had a nice Batman sleeping bag with artwork similar to what was used on Mego packaging if I recall (specifically the Riddler comes to mind)....anybody have any pics?
So the sleeping bags of the 70s are rife with Mego-goodness!!!

yeah, space killer is the most apt term I could think of to apply to these, otherwise I would have the marvel ones.
I think I now know my destiny though, to get that Doritos sleeping bag and spend the rest of my sleeping days sleeping in it, not only does it scream "I love to eat" it also would be a conversation piece that wouldn't stop giving.
thanks for showing me what I am truly looking for.

I know what you mean about them being space killers. I used to collect them and superhero bed sets. That ended pretty quick after getting a few.Leave a comment:

Super Selection of Sleeping Bags

I used to collect Sleeping bags, talk about a space killer. This spread has me wondering though, what kid wanted the McDonalds characters over say Spider-Man and Hulk or the cool robots from the Black Hole? I can't imagine unrolling a McDonaldland sleeping bag at Richard Huer's sleep over back in the day. I think I'd have been better off with the oversized Dorito's bag.Visit us at Plaid Stallions.com
