I've got a tough assignment for you

I had one as a kid and I did something really stupid.

When I first got one for Christmas after a short time (the same day) I took a pair of scissors and cut the talking string.

At the time I thought a talking figure was more of a baby toy instead of an action figure

I was very confused and it still bugs me to this day

Hey Brian, I guess you and your friend didn't know that you're supposed to pull the string at different points to make them say different things. That dog tag is supposed to be color coated w/ different colors, and each color represents a different phrase. If you always pull the string all the way out, you'll get the same phrase.

Dave was older than me and just told me the story one day. I never had one as a kid.

In my opinion the talking A-Team commander with kung fu grip is on of the top five figures ever made in history! My brother has a mint one that says all of the phrases in a mike tyson voice.

Growing up, my neighbour Dave had a talking Joe, all it ever said was "I have a tough assignment for you" to the point where Dave came up with his own "tough assignment" and smashed Joe with a hammer.

It made me giggle when I read the ad copy on this page. Last I saw Dave, he was a repairman...
