    Great story! I laughed until I cried. So sad. But also very true for how our parents reasoned. How little they understood the scars they administered for the sake of our safety and sense of well being.

        One year I went as a "vampire" (1979 I think). My hair slicked back, plastic vampire teeth, some fake blood from a tube, my own black shirt, dark pants, and white sneakers. I might have had a cape but I don't remember wearing one. Worst costume I've ever worn, and the lowest amount of candy I ever got on Halloween.

        Oh well.

          seeing as I grew up in Southern Ontario and force fed nothing but WKBW and Buffalo 29 TV as a kid
          Same here. Those were the days.
