I bought a set of Rocket Command Centers from Ebay last Christmas for dirt cheap. They were complete and in decent condition. Even the decals glow in the dark!
I am more than machine. More than man. More than a fusion of the two.

Speaking of Gor. He made a cameo appearance on one episode of Starksy & Hutch.

I love these classic toy cameo's that have been popping up here. As for the Super Joe line. I had turned 12 when the line first appeared at the local K-mart. As per my parentals. I was too old to play with dolls.
PS. For some reason I thought the figures were 9" not 8".

Actually, they are almost exactly 8 1/2", definitely taller than Megos in a side by side comparison.

finding the forearm pieces tends to be the most challenging unless you buy a carded figure. i have several Luminos, Shield, Darkon and Commanders in my display case. Sometimes I just have to substiture the wrong color forearm until I can find the correct one. Flesh colored is the most readily available since Commander is easiest to get.
Darkon is a really cool looking figure, very simple in it's design as it is just a repainted commander. i have yet to get his sword though. they tend to go for big money on ebay

              I love Gor!

How much do carded ones tend to go for?
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Digging up a little dated post - oh well- I just lost an auction for a loose Gor in the UK- I think it went around $60 plus $12 for shipping- he was intact but I don't recall if the auction stated his condition as working or not.

I happened upon an auction for a Gor head- and a separate seller was selling Gor torso with arms and legs! Winning the first auction was easy but I was sweating a little on the second- seeing as winning just one auction would have left me incomplete.

I had to clean up the head and added some fresh paint, then glued the body back together since it was missing the electronic "guts". I had to glue one arm in place since it had lost it's anchor piece that allowed it to swivel in the shoulder.

I'm pleased with the turn out- one odd thing though, one of his legs seems to be longer than they other.

I've never owned one and have always heard about the body issues--what was the deal, exactly? Deteriorating rubber bands or something? They look cool. Are they easy to repair?

the rubber used for the joints literally disintegrated after a few years....same with the hands.
a member here used to sell custom replacement joints with instructions but he has not been on the boards since last August according to his profile. the rebuild is not hard, once you get the idea and as long as you are at least somewhat handy and requires a drill and a dremel. if you do a search you can probably find my thread showing my SJ display

I'm pretty sure the member you are talking about is also this guy on Ebay:

                      eBay: bobnjen88

I was looking at some older Super Joe threads and he had posted about repairing them as well as casting new parts like hands.

I think I also read that he's a graphic artist- which makes sense when you see he has a large number of repro SMDM and Big Jim stickers and others for sale.

Hmmm....makes me wonder if he will get smacked down on the SMDM since the toys have been re-started?

not sure if that is him but his name was Bob.
if you can still get them, Zica gripper hands were a perfect match, the wrist stem fits perfectly and the hands are the right scale

I think so. I PMed him about maybe making some repro stickers of the SMDM Bionic transport and Repair Station (I have an unused sheet to use for scans), but never heard back. I hope he drops back in sometime, because the guy's pretty talented. I was also interested in seeing if he could make repro Mattel "Clash of the Titans" swords. It's awesome to see he's making Mattel BSG guns.

I bought one on ebay years ago. Before it shipped they lost the battery compartment lid. About a year later they sent it after they found it. One fall and Gor fell into pieces though. Both the one I have now, and the one I had as a kid.
