Great my butt. This show will be a thorn in the side to everyone that's a toy hunter. It's hard enough these days with people thinking they are sitting on gold.

They are looking for people and toys via Craigslist:

This is just total domination on the part of this guy. Mike Wolfe gets over 1,000 emails a day from people wanting to sell him stuff. Now this guy will be cleaning up on 70s and 80s toys.

They convinced someone to buy their show. I'd rather be doing that than my real job. So more power to them. Really. Can this hurt the toy market as much as eBay? I see lots of things I'd like to buy on eBay, but 99% of the time it goes for more than it's worth to me. I didn't personally enjoy this show as much as American pickers. Mike and frank are entertaining. Most of the time it seems they are dealing with hoarders, and therefore willing to except 50% of what things are worth.

I disagree, I think by having shows like this it introduces younger generations to our collectibles who in turn will buy this stuff from us(me) when it is time for me to sell. I will also educate some of those tools who try and sell beat up Hot Wheel Redlines for example for $40 dollars because they are from the 60s but are worthless. This show will help educate buyers and sellers and hopefully bring up the value of some toys that value has fallen in the last few years, I think it is a great concept and I look forward to all of it

Things like these worry me. Because back in the 90's I was a toy Pimp. Since I was collecting, I haunted the toy stores. So my sister asked me to look for / buy certain toys for the people she babysat for. We are talking well off people who hired my Sis to tend to their kids while they worked. So we settled on price plus expences and finders fee. It was'nt a bad way to get extra pocket change and saved the parents from getting the wrong toy or no toy whatso ever. So when I hear these Buyers (Not Collectors) low balling toy values. I gotta think the guys a Conman or stupid! Expences and finders fee are legal fees in all states. I and would think any "buyer" of any product would add these on. I'd put money on these fees being on this guys final sale to his customers.
I think offering a collector, Who cared for and protected an item for decades; A lowball offer is an insult! Condition is the factor that reduces an items value only.

Good stuff so far on the show tonight. Cool Super Powers Darkseid vehicle, and now some Battle of the Planets figures.

            KISS Megos now.

I didn't like what he did with that woman's Andy Gibb figure. Don't care if it was a joke,it wasn't funny.

Dark SEED though..... really? I thought he was supposed to know his stuff. I really enjoy seeing all the stuff he finds though.

I remember a thread on here asking how people thought it was pronounced. I always assumed DarkSIDE, but others said SEED. Seed doesn't make much sense to me though.

It's all contrived, sometimes wrong, sometimes boring, and sometimes absurd, but yet it is somehow lovable and entertaining.

One of the worst shows on Television IMO and I LOVE toys!

It's fun and I believe, harmless. The fun part is seeing all the vintage toys on TV.

The Andy Gibb thing was just odd, and DarkSEED drove me nuts. How many cartoon series (and Smallville!) does Darkseid have to be on before people pronounce his name right! Of course the Nolan films mis-pronounced Ra's Al Ghul, so...

I didn't think the Darkseid Destroyer was worth very much. And I don't recall it being a Canadian exclusive either. I think they just had a Canadian box?

According to my wife, they got their facts straight on Barbie #1, which is rare. Many books and TV shows have shown later issues and repros to be the first Barbie.

I think shows like these are fun to watch for the visual value. But like any show that tries to determine 'market value', I think these do more harm than good. These shows are scripted, so someone on that production team is talking to or accessing a website or book that makes these value judgements. People then watch these shows and think that is the gospel. So there's alot of manipulation going on here to set values in the collector field.

Just like Collector Intervention the previous night, I fell to sleep just as it was coming on and only heard saw bits and pieces.

He never saw a loose Snake Mountain before? Really?. 20 years dealing in toys and you've only saw boxed ones?
